Front Clip

Real tear down progress is apparent once the front clip is removed. This is how I pulled it apart.

Fist removed the front bumper and its support.  A little PB Blaster and it came right off no problem.

Next I pulled the headlights.  I simply cut the wire to light as I plan on replacing the whole harness anyway.

Next I removed all wire harness attached to the inner fenders as well heater hoses clipped on the passenger side.  Then it was a hunt and remove every bolt I could find!  Easier done with the front wheels removed.  I left the park lights attached to the grill but cut the power to it.

With the help of a neighbour I was able to remove the clip all as one.  I wanted to take it off in pieces, but there were hidden bolts keeping the grill attached that I didn’t see until I had it removed.  I’ll obviously have to read up on how to reassemble in the right order once its all painted.

Getting the hood and emblem off  put to use a bolt extractor and three steel drill bits!  Those stupid flat head screws, who invented them?!?
